Watch Dogs has already become Ubisoft’s fastest selling game to date since its release back in may for all the gaming platforms including next-gen and previous-gen consoles as well as for PC. Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs had crossed over 4 million units in the first week and it seems that here comes the another update saying that Ubisoft has shipped over 8 million copies of Watch Dogs.
Yves Guillemot, CEO and co-founder of Ubisoft said in a press release that “Watch Dogs is now well positioned as a major franchise and that they will be able to “replicate and build on its success in the coming years.” This is an indication that we will be seeing Watch Dogs sequel in future. Not only that, Ubisoft’s sales for first quarter of 2014-15 fiscal year has crossed €360 million which is a 374 percent increase as compared to €76 million for first quarter last year. This is certainly higher than Ubisoft’s target of €310 million by nearly 16 percent.
Ubisoft further added that half of the revenue came from sales on the next-gen gaming consoles i.e. PS4 and Xbox One. Well, Ubisoft already have some titles to keep up on sales which includes Assassin’s Creed Unity, The Division, Far Cry 4 and some more which will be arriving soon in next quarter or by the end of this year.
