Gionee Elife S7 Launched At MWC 2015, Set To Head India By AprilMobile World Congress (MWC) has already witnessed big launches from all the major players in the industry. A lot of talks surround the gadgets like Samsung S6 and HTC One M9. Amidst of all these big releases, Gionee too unveiled its flagship smartphone – the Gionee Elife S7. This comes as a successor to Elife S5.5 and Elife S5.1. Gionee Elife S7 is priced at EUR 399 (coming about INR 27,700) and is speculated to be available in Indian market until early April this year.

HTC One M9

This device sports a 5.2-inch super AMOLED display unit giving full HD (1080p) resolution. The AMOLED panel is outsourced from Samsung. AMOLED units are frequent in Samsung devices. To counter the physical damages, the screen is provided with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The SoC unit for the device flaunts a 64-bit MediaTek MT6752M octa-core processor, similar to the Lenovo A7000, and is paired with 2GB of RAM. Lenovo A7000 too was launched at the MWC. The device also holds a chip from Freescale, which is meant to reduce the CPU power by about 20 percent. Internal storage capacity reads to be 16GB.

Elife S7 runs on the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 but with Amigo 3.0 skin on the top. Much to the joy for shutterbugs, Elife S7 comes with primary camera unit of 13MP and secondary camera unit of 8MP. Primary camera blends with the body panel and doesn’t protrude out. Image sensor and software on the device is provided by Sony. The smartphone comes with Intelligent Night mode and Beauty mode for giving out better pictures. Gionee said that Elife S7 is equipped with its latest image processing software which enable the phone to capture about 6 image frames in a second.

In terms of connectivity features, Elife S7 has 4G LTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, etc. Apart of all these impressive features, the device holds a weak battery of 2300mAh. But to compensate its battery life, Gionee touts about features which will help in reducing the power consumption. Gionee claims that the dark theme setting will reduce the power consumption by 30 percent. Also there is a provision of ‘Extreme mode’ which turns on when the battery reading on the device is 10 percent. This mode is claimed to give a staggering 30 more hours of life to the device. On design front, it gives out good looks and is impressively thin.

Overall, Gionee Elife S7 offers good features and elegant design but only with more powerful battery unit it would have been really the one to look out for.
