Moto X 2nd Gen Gets a Price Cut Now Starts at Rs. 26,999

The Motorola Moto X 2nd Gen has got an official price cut today, this is the second price cut since its launch in India. Motorola has initially launched only the 16GB version here for Rs. 31,999 as an online exclusive product. The 32GB variant of the device was launched a couple of months at Rs. 32,999 while the 16GB got a price cut to Rs. 29,999. Today Motorola slashed the prices of these devices by 3000 rupees getting the 16GB down to Rs 26,999 and the 32GB variant to 29,999.

The Moto X 2nd Gen has been a successful device for Motorola and was the flagship device for Motorola until the Moto Turbo was officially launched in India. The second generation of the Moto X sports a 5.2 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The AMOLED display offers good colour contrast while keeping power consumption down. The device is well built and thanks to the metal band surrounding the phone it looks premium.

The back is curved and fits well in hand. At the back the 13 megapixel camera is flanked by 2 LED flash which is diffused under a plastic ring. The camera is capable of recording video at 4K resolution, the highest possible on a phone currently. At the front the device houses a 2 megapixel camera and 4 infrared sensors to detect hand gestures. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 801 Quad Core processor clocked at 2.5GHz along with 2GB of RAM. This makes the device capable of handling most tasks without breaking sweat.

Motorola is known to be ahead of the competition when it comes to Android updates. The Moto X 2nd Gen was launched with Android Kitkat and was soon updated to Android Lollipop. Motorola has also baked in a lot of features into the phone like Touchless Control, Quick Capture and Moto Display.

The move from Motorola may have been a result of phones like the Xiaomi Mi4 and the OnePlus One which have similar specifications but are priced lower than the Moto X 2nd Gen. Or the move may be crashing prices of other flagships like the Xperia Z3 Compact & Xperia Z3 Compact,  Samsung Galaxy S5 and the LG G3. However for those who have been eyeing the Moto X 2nd gen, now is the best time to pick up the phone.
