BookMyShow, India’s largest online entertainment ticketing platform has recently acquired an Hyderabad based online ticketing platform, the MastiTickets. MastiTickets is an online ticketing platform similar to BookMyShow that allow users to book tickets for movies through web and mobile apps. It has a greater reach in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region, and at present works with 120 cinemas. These acquisition is an indication that BookMyShow is planning to increase their growth plan and reach in southern regions of India by not just taking the users of MastiTickets but also bring diverse entertainment preferences in both genres and languages.

Well, MastiTickets is not just the only acquisition for BookMyShow in South India. They have also acquired Chennai based online ticketing players TicketGreen in 2013., acquired a majority stake in Bengaluru-based social media analytics start-up Eventifier in 2015 and Chennai based fan relationship management (FRM) solutions provider, Fantain Sports Pvt. Ltd. in 2016. This strategic expansion in Southern region of India will surely bring a lot of potential to growth of BookMyShow. Also, they have recently revised their mobile app for Android.
