Apple Is The Most Desired Smartphone Brand In Emerging Markets, Says SurveyBeing home for nearly 85 percent of the world’s population, emerging markets are growing at double-digit rates across Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. In some consumer segments, they account for more than 50 percent of worldwide demand. That’s the reason tech giants like Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Sony and many more pay a special attention to these emerging markets as this seems to be a right place for the company’s growth. These emerging markets are good platform for the companies to target their low-end or mid-range smartphones, and usually Android smartphones tops the chart.

Samsung usually tops the chart, but the recent survey appears to go in the favor of Apple. Well, according to the reports from marketing firm Upstream and researcher Ovum, Apple’s iPhone ranks top in the survey for being the most desired smartphone in the emerging markets. Survey polls by Ovum and Upstream in Brazil, China, India, Nigeria and Vietnam says that 32 percent of the total polled desire the Apple’s iPhone, Samsung in the second place with 29 percent, while Nokia came in third place with 13 percent.

This seems to be a good news for Apple in comparison to the last years survey as they have received a big jump from 21 percent to 32 percent, while Samsung saw a slighter decline from 32 percent to 29 percent. This shows that though iPhone is not affordable for most of the customers in the emerging markets, but it comes in first place when it comes to their desire. Well, after this survey, Apple will surely plan to target lots of customers in the emerging markets. After all, they just beat the South Korean tech giant in terms of desire. Stay tuned for more updates.
