HTC One (M8) Officially Announced

HTC One (M8) Officially AnnouncedThe handset which has been among lots of talks since past couple of months, has finally turned out to be official. Well, we are talking about the new HTC One (M8) which has been recently announced by HTC at a press event in New York. However, the new HTC One (M8) comes with the same specifications as found in the rumors, so nothing much surprising about the handset specs.

The HTC One (M8), the successor to the HTC One (M7) comes with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels ( little bigger than M7), powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor (2.5GHz version to launch in Asia), 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB onboard storage which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card slot.

The HTC One (M8) has been re-crafted to look even more stunning than before, providing a high quality metal unibody all around the corners. As far as connectivity is concerned, the HTC One (M8) includes WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC support and a microUSB support.

The all new HTC One (M8) comes with the all new HTC Sense 6, featuring bold, customizable color themes and delivers a more intuitive, personalized user experience, a more improved HTC Blinkfeed and the HTC BoomSound that provides more improved audio quality to the handset. The HTC One (M8) has got the taste of Android 4.4.2 KitKat as the operating system and comes with a nano SIM slot.

What about the camera? the HTC One (M8) features an UltraPixel camera with a dual flash and a full 1080p HD video recording, producing an impressive image in all lighting conditions. The Duo Camera now offers a better focus and more options for editing. On the front side, the HTC One (M8) features a 5MP camera to capture impressive selfies and video chats with apps such as Skype.

Battery life? the HTC One (M8) comes equipped with a 2,600mAh battery (slightly bump than its predecessor) provides user with 40 percent more battery life and features the Extreme Power Saving Mode that makes the battery last even longer.

The Extreme Power Saving Mode is capable of delivering 14days battery power (if fully charged), 60 hours of extra standby time at 20 percent power, 30 hours at 10 percent power and 15 hours at 5 percent power. Well, that will surely compete the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5’s Ultra Power Saving Mode.

The HTC One (M8) will be available in over 100 countries and 230 carriers worldwide with the following color options: Gunmetal Gray, Amber Gold an Glacial Silver colors.  The HTC One (M8) will be available in the UK and US at a suggested price of $649.99 (off-contract), which means on-contract will vary based on the carrier.
