Nubia Z9 Mini Launched in India, Priced at Rs. 16,999

Chinese smartphone maker ZTE has entered the Indian market by launching the Nubia Z9 Mini this week. The phone is a mini variant of its current international flagship the Nubia Z9. The company has announced that the device will be Amazon Exclusive and will be selling for Rs 16,999.

Though the price may not seem interesting at first the Z9 Mini offers good specs at the given price point. The device features a 5 inch CGS Sharp display Full HD resolution, 441 PPI pixel density and Gorilla Glass 3 protection which is quite impressive for a phone at this price. It is driven by the Snapdragon 615 Octa Core processor and has 2GB of RAM on board. The device runs on Nubia UI on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The hardware and software are both 64 bit and should be able to deliver a smooth, lag free experience.

There are very few devices that offer such good specifications at that price and the only phone that comes close is Xiaomi’s Mi 4i. The Nubia N9 Mini is slightly expensive when compared to the Mi 4i but the hardware justifies the price. The phone has a 16 megapixel Sony Exmor R sensor at the back and an 8 megapixel camera on the front. The rear camera has a 6 element lens  The camera is bundled with good software which offers various professional photography modes to allow the user better control. The camera has an aperture of f2.0 which helps it click good images in low lighting conditions.

The Nubia Z9 Mini comes with 16GB of internal memory and has a microSD card slot that can take cards up to 128GB. The Mi 4i also has the same internal memory but misses out on the expandable storage bit. The back cover is removable and there will be different finish option to choose from. The phone has a 2900mAh non removable battery and should provide at least one day of backup. The N9 mini is a Dual SIM device and provide FDD LTE support.
