New Mac Pro Does Not Support Windows 7 Boot Camp Compatibility
If you are planning to purchase the new Mac Pro that was launched late last year, then there’s a news for you as the new Mac Pro will now only allow the Windows 8 or later via Boot Camp. According to reports, Apple updated its system requirements for Boot Camp page to list Windows 8 as the only supported Windows OS for the new Mac Pro (released late 2013). This means that Apple has decided to drop the Windows 7 and earlier version Boot Camp support for the new Mac Pro.
Not only that, the new Mac Pro is the first model so far that will not support Windows 7 or earlier version whereas all the other previous models in past have supported them. For instance in other models, Boot Camp 5.x supports Windows 7 and later, while for Boot Camp 4.x (used in older Macs) supports Windows XP and Windows 7. This step of dropping the support is an indication that all the upcoming Mac machines will be having the same limitations. So, if you are going for the new Mac Pro, then you need an upgrade of the latest Windows OS. Stay tuned for more updates.
