Square Launches Their First Chip Card Reader For Smartphones And Tablets For $29
Square has recently launched their first chip card reader which comes optimally designed to take payments from your smartphones and tablets. This Chip reader by Square allows users to accept credit anywhere with their smartphones or tablets. The Square Reader requires an access of free Square Register app on your smartphone or tablet to process the payments from both chip-based cards as well as magnetic-stripe cards.
This new chip card Square Reader works with both Android and iOS devices and offers high-level of security with all transactions data are encrypted while processing any payment. Square has not only designed an end-to-end encryption for the chip based card reader but also added multiple level security to detect and defend misuse.
Priced for $29, the chip based Square Reader is the cheapest chip-enabled card reader available in market. However, the pre-order has started, but the Square Reader will starts shipping from early 2015 in the U.S. It seems that this is the right time for Square to make a mark in a market as retailers in the U.S. will have to mandatory switch to chip-based card device until October 2015.
