The International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2016 saw Opera leap forward to release their 2nd version of the Opera TV- Opera TV 2.0. Opera seems to have chalked out the perfect update for Opera TV by not only providing users with an HD experience of their content on the biggest screen in the homes but also bringing all favorite content at one place. Opera TV 2.0 has something in it for every member of the family with their solution featuring over 800 TV apps in categories such as Lifestyle, Music, Kids, Nature and Travel, News and Weather, Sports, Social and Internet TV.
Talking about technicalities Opera TV 2.0 which aims to provide a better visual and experience on Smart TVs, Blu-ray Disc players and set-top boxes is operated with help of cloud which enables a wide selection of popular OTT (over-the-top content). While the development platform for games is said to be HTML5. With a view to boost the after sales revenue, major emphasis has been given user engagement and stickiness to the system.
The Opera TV 2.0 would be available in the Smart TVs as early as the first quarter of 2016, courtesy Hisene – 4th largest manufacturer of TVs Furthermore, more than 1,000 Smart TV, Blu-ray Disc player and set-top-box models from other manufacturers will join the list. Being a cloud solution, it is expected to be rolled out quickly.
