Motorola Moto G5 and G5 Plus Officially Announced [MWC2017]
Searching for a new premium high-end smartphone at a budgeted price, then you will be pleased to know that Lenovo’s Motorola has today announced the two new additions to the fifth generation of Moto G family – the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus. Both the new models comes with whole new premium features including metal design and striking new look. Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus
Design
Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus both features a head-turning, metal design which gives them a perfect finish on comparison with the other Moto G predecessors. Moto G5 is smaller and lighter than the Moto G5 Plus. Moto G5 measures 144.3 x 73 x 9.5mm and weighs 144.5g whereas Moto G5 Plus measures 150.2 x 74 x 7.7mm and weighs 155g. Both these models features a fingerprint sensor mounted on the Home button similar to Moto Z, offering a more secure to the device. Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will be available in two colors: Lunar Grey and Fine Gold, and if you are based in UK, then you will also get the taste of exclusive color: Sapphire Blue.
Display
Moto G5 features a 5-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 440 ppi, while Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 423 ppi. Motorola has added Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection in big brother, Moto G5 Plus.
Camera
Both the devices comes with excellent front and rear facing cameras. The Moto G5 features a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture having 1.1µm pixels, LED Flash and phase-detection autofocus while on the other hand, the Moto G5 Plus features a 12 megapixel sensor with Dual Autofocus Pixels, 1.4µm pixels and a colour balancing dual-LED flash on the rear side. Both the devices comes with a 5-megapixel front facing wide angle camera having a f/2.2 aperture, 1.4µm pixels and a display flash. Unlike Moto G5 which offers Full HD recording capability, the Moto G5 Plus is designed to offer 4K video recording.
Performance and Other Specs
The Moto G5 comes powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor while the Moto G5 Plus comes powered with 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 processor to give faster access to apps, photos and everything. In terms of RAM and storage, the Moto G5 comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage while on the other hand, the Moto G5 Plus features 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage along with microSD expansion upto 128GB for both the devices. The Moto G5 has a 2800mAh battery with Motorola’s Rapid Charging capability, while the Moto G5 Plus has a 3000mAh battery that comes with TurboPower charging capability. Motorola has also added NFC connectivity feature in G5 Plus.
As far as OS is concerned, both the Android powered device comes with the taste of Android 7.0 Nougat.
Pricing and Release Date
