Xiaomi Redmi 2 Officially Announced With 64 Bit Processor And 4G LTE Connectivity
No one can deny the fact that Xiaomi is the world’s faster growing smartphone manufacturer , and not only that they are also competing the likes of Apple and Samsung. The reason for growing at a faster rate is that Xiaomi offers smartphones with a decent set of specifications and an affordable price tag. Well, Xiaomi has today announced their new Android smartphone, the Redmi 2 which comes powered with 64-bit Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor and the support of 4G LTE connectivity.
As far as specs are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 features a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels,a 1.2GHz 64-bit processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 32GB using a microSD card slot. On the camera side, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 features an 8MP rear-facing camera for taking snaps and videos and a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. Other features includes Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS + GLONASS and a a microUSB 2.0 port that supports QuickCharge 1.0 to quickly fill the 2,200mAh Li-Po battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be available in following color options: yellow, pink, white, black and green. Looking at the specs, the Redmi 2 seems to be a mid-ranged specs smartphone, But even though the Redmi 2 features mid-ranged specs, Xiaomi has priced this new smartphone with an affordable price tag. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 will hit retail store in China on January 9th at a price tag of 700 Yuan which is approx. $110. However, there are no details on its availability in international market yet, but stay tuned with us. We will let you know as we get some information on it.
